![]() I filed a complaint a couple of years ago - corporate told the local guys to make me happy and I still have the phone number for the technical services manager. However, they are required to answer the FCC complaint and this elevates it to corporate, where there may still be some support for cable cards. Spectrum does not legally have to support cable cards but they have been voluntarily doing so. Email to the following: TO: CC: It is also easy to file an FCC complaint online. Ensure to include your cell number and address in email. I've had to contact CEO/Executives at corporate twice and both times I received phone calls the next day along with resolutions to my issues. If that doesn't workout then your only option is to contact corporate and explain your situation. VinceJP posted: Contact CC support at 86 and request re-provision of tuning adapter, don't mention cable card. BTW, I have TV in three rooms, my internet is slightly faster (500mbps to 600mbps) and my monthly TV/internet dropped from $220 with Spectrum to $143. This appears to be a way for Tivo to remain relevant. It may take years but I believe it is inevitable. The TV model that powers Tivo is going away. They will all just record and you can watch TV at the same time. Since there are no tuners, and everything records in the cloud, OnePasses will not conflict.Strangely, you can't fast forward when you do this. You can basically go back to any recent show (not sure how recent) and play it. Since there's no local storage, rewinding and fast forwarding takes a slight delay (1-2 sec).No one-button ad skip, and no sped up viewing.Only ten minutes of pause buffer, instead of 30 minutes.I believe they tried as hard as possible to keep the same experience, but since there is no local hard drive, and everything has to run over the internet, there are the same limitations as other cloud DVRs. After using this for a couple days, I think I can say this is the closest thing to Tivo there is. The technicians installed a small box that runs the FiOptics+ app, which looks virtually identical to the Tivo app. As far as I can tell, they are the only such partner so far with Tivo. The interesting thing is they have partnered with Tivo to power their FiOptics+ TV service. ![]() AltaFiber used to be called Cincinnati Bell, a regional bell company. I live in southwest Ohio and two days ago got AltaFiber installed. When I got the letter, which I interpreted as "Tivo may work for 20 more years or it may stop tomorrow," I immediately started looking for alternatives, including Spectrum Cloud DVR, Sling, and Hulu TV. Like others, the primary reason I've stuck with traditional cable for so long is for Tivo. My first Tivo had a DVD player in it, and used dial-up to connect. He was on the phone with a sprervisor for over an hour with no resolution.ĭavid, would you know the name of the special division that solved your issues? I have another truck roll tomorrow and I'd like to tell them who to contact. After that, the same thing happened to my 2nd HSC and Tivo. The tech did not know what to do so he replaced the main cable drop coming into the house. I called the cable card support line and they insisted on a truck roll which I had Sunday. Howefer, my other HSC and Tivo was still working. If I leave the USB unplugged then I can tune the non SDV channels. It went into a loop between the loading channels screen and the program guide and would end up at a Tivo error screen reporting error W15, "can't communicate with the Tuning Adapter. Last Tuesday one of my two HSCs suddenly could not communicate with my Tivo via the USB port and no channels would tune. ![]() Odd that Tivo has been encouraging me to buy an Edge system for the last 6 months or so.ĭavid, I'm in the Cincinnati market and I had a very similar experience this past week.
